{"id":3563,"date":"2020-11-04T08:10:22","date_gmt":"2020-11-04T14:10:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.indianaadoption.com\/?p=3563"},"modified":"2020-11-04T08:10:22","modified_gmt":"2020-11-04T14:10:22","slug":"post-adoption-contact-agreements-in-indiana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/indianaadoption.com\/post-adoption-contact-agreements-in-indiana\/","title":{"rendered":"Post Adoption Contact Agreements in Indiana"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Indiana Code 31-19-16 allows for post adoption contact agreements (PACA) between adoptive parents and biological parents that are willing to sign a consent to the adoption.\u00a0 Indiana Code 31-19-16.5 allows for post adoption contact agreements between siblings that are being adopted.\u00a0 The former happens much more often than the latter. This is because siblings are typically adopted together into the same family. Being adopted into the same family would eliminate the need for a sibling PACA.\u00a0 PACAs are a great idea because they allow children to know their biological family.\u00a0 When a child knows where they came from they are going to feel much more secure in the fact that they are adopted.
