Heartfelt Adoption Reconnection

Friday was amazing day for an adoptee and her biological mother. I cannot put into words the intensity and beauty of this re-connection. About ten minutes into the meeting I asked the adoptee how she felt and she said that she experienced an incredible weight being lifted from her and a sense of peace.

As with most adoption re-connections, it seems to be best to just let nature take its course. After that first encounter, both the adoptee and her biological mother need time to take all of this in and then, with time, evaluate the situation and go from there.

Once again, this re-connection could have happened many years earlier if both the adoptee and her biological mother knew about the Indiana State Department of Health’s Adoption Registry.
