An Adoption Agency Told Me That I Should Not Work With Kirsh & Kirsh, P.C. (“KIRSH & KIRSH’) Because They Represent The Adoptive Parents And Don’t Care About Birth Mothers. Is That True?

An Adoption Agency Told Me That I Should Not Work With Kirsh & Kirsh, P.C. (“KIRSH & KIRSH’) Because They Represent The Adoptive Parents And Don’t Care About Birth Mothers. Is That True?

While Kirsh & Kirsh usually represents the prospective adoptive parents, it is ABSOLUTELY untrue that Kirsh & Kirsh does not care about birth mothers. Nothing could be further from the truth. Over the last 35+ years of arranging adoptions in Indiana, we have earned an excellent reputation with expectant mothers and birth mothers because of the care and concern we show them. In our minds, birth mothers are heroes. There is nothing more loving than a parent putting her child’s needs ahead of her own. We treat birth mothers with the kindness and respect they deserve – it is just the right thing to do and consistent with the interests of our clients, the prospective adoptive parents.

We, at Kirsh & Kirsh, explain to expectant mothers at our first meeting with them that we are not their attorneys, cannot provide legal advice to them, and what they tell us is not confidential or subject to attorney-client privilege. However, we still share with birth parents information about loving, carefully screened, prospective adoptive parents, make all the arrangements for the adoption, and remain available 24/7/365 during their pregnancy and after to answer their non-legal questions. In the 90 years of combined experience practicing adoption in Indiana, our 4 attorneys can attest that almost none of the questions expectant mothers ask involves legal advice, and when they ask a question that calls for legal advice, we arrange for them to speak with their own attorney, at NO EXPENSE to them.

We pride ourselves on the relationship we have with birth mothers and appreciate the referrals of new birth mothers by those women, who have previously given their babies up for adoption, or more correctly, made an adoption plan for their babies, make to us. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT.

POSITIVE ADOPTION LANGUAGE DISCLAIMER:  Please understand that these blog posts are written in a way to use language that people use when searching for help with their adoption plans.  Unfortunately, while all of us understand what positive adoption language means, most expectant moms that come to us at first do not understand what that means. The most common search term on the Internet for expectant moms is “how do I give up my baby for adoption”.  If we do not include those words in our blog posts, and instead put “how do I create an adoption plan for my baby” then our website will not show up in most expectant mom’s search results in Google.
