Baby Born Today – February 27, 2015

A beautiful baby girl was born early this morning.  Mom and baby are doing fine.  The adoptive parents are heading to the hospital.  Mom wants to sign today, rather than wait the 24 hours, which is preferred under the Indiana hospital guidlines.  Indiana law, clearly states, that a woman may sign a consent to adoption any time after birth, I.C. 31-19-9-2.  For this reason, the hospital is OK with mom signing today.  Since mom wants to leave the hospital so soon, Steve and Grant will be flying there to get there faster, so they can make it back to court today, to get the court order, so the baby can leave the hospital over the weekend, rather than wait until Monday.  It is going to be another busy day.
