Kirsh & Kirsh Provides “Adoption Services” — Not as an Adoption Agency

Kirsh & Kirsh, P.C., is an adoption law firm. Indiana Code 35-46-1-22 allows attorneys to provide “adoption services” in addition to legal services. For the most part, the “adoption services” specified in Indiana Code 35-46-1-22 are the same for adoption attorneys as adoption agencies. The notable exception is that adoption attorneys are not permitted to do home studies of prospective adoptive parents. Even before the Indiana Adoption Code required home studies for prospective adoptive parents, Kirsh & Kirsh, P.C., required its clients to be thoroughly counseled before they adopted a child. These days, Kirsh & Kirsh, P.C., has its prospective adoptive parents complete a home study, which includes criminal, child abuse, and sexual offender checks by adoption agencies who are independent of Kirsh & Kirsh, P.C.  The adoption lawyers at Kirsh & Kirsh, P.C., who are Steven M. Kirsh, Joel D. Kirsh, Grant M. Kirsh, and Robert B. Kirsh, only practice adoption/family formation law. Adoption/family formation law is not merely one of many areas of law each practice. It is not even the primary type of law each practice — it is the only area of law. Adoption Attorneys Kirsh & Kirsh, P.C., can assist you whether you are an expectant mother or birth mother trying to find a loving, secure, happy home for your precious baby or prospective adoptive parents looking for a newborn to adopt. Additionally, the adoption attorneys at Kirsh & Kirsh, P.C., can assist with family, relative, grandparent, adult, and DCS adoptions, as well as the formalization of international adoptions.
