Out of State Adoption Agency

Out of State Adoption Agency

Recently, I met with a woman who searched for “adoption agency out of state”. She wanted to find a family outside Indiana to adopt her baby. We work with a number of women who have the same request. Unfortunately for her, by making her initial contact with an out of state adoption agency, that agency was not familiar with Indiana adoption laws and procedures. The agency gave her advice regarding the father of the baby which, while probably correct under the laws of the state in which the agency was located, was not true under Indiana law.

At Kirsh and Kirsh, we represent prospective adoptive parents from all over the country. If an expectant mom prefers to have a family outside of Indiana adopt her baby, we have a lot of families from which to choose. The other advantage of working with Kirsh and Kirsh is that because we are based in Indiana, an expectant mother can meet with us in person and does not have to make the most important decision of her life by telephone. As a licensed pilot, I can be anywhere within the State of Indiana within an hour. I think that most women would agree that trying to make arrangements for the future well-being of their child by telephone is not nearly as personal and comforting as doing so in person.
