The Birth Father Blocked Me. How Can I Put My Baby Up For Adoption?

The Birth Father Blocked Me. How Can I Put My Baby Up For Adoption?

If you work with Indiana-based, Adoption Attorneys Kirsh & Kirsh, P.C. (“Kirsh & Kirsh”) to find an adoptive home for your baby, even if you live in Tennessee, Mississippi, Kentucky, Michigan, Illinois, or any other state, we can rely on Indiana’s very favorable adoption laws. Indiana law does NOT require a birth mother to identify the father of the child. But, if she will identify the baby daddy and provide an address, at which he can be found, we can give him notice of the adoption and potentially stop his challenge of the adoption before the baby’s birth. If the birth mother got pregnant in a state with a putative father registry, we, at Kirsh & Kirsh, can rely on that state’s putative father registry in an Indiana adoption proceeding. In short, if the father does want you to contact him, you can still give up your baby for adoption or, more correctly, make an adoption plan for your baby, if you work with experienced, knowledgeable adoption professionals like Kirsh & Kirsh.

If you would like to explore adoption, we at Kirsh & Kirsh — or the “Kirsh Boys,” as the adoption attorneys at Kirsh & Kirsh are sometimes called – Steve, and his brothers, Joel and Rob, and his son, Grant, have over 90 years of combined legal experience and pride themselves on answering questions about adoption and explaining the process without pressure or judgment.

POSITIVE ADOPTION LANGUAGE DISCLAIMER:  Please understand that these blog posts are written in a way to use language that people use when searching for help with their adoption plans.  Unfortunately, while all of us understand what positive adoption language means, most expectant moms that come to us at first do not understand what that means. The most common search term on the Internet for expectant moms is “how do I give up my baby for adoption.”  If we do not include those words in our blog posts and instead put “how do I create an adoption plan for my baby,” then our website will not show up in most expectant moms’ search results in Google.
