Picking an Adoptive Family
Picking an adoptive family can seem like a daunting process, but it does not have to be. If you are pregnant and considering placing your baby for adoption, or putting your baby up for adoption or giving up your baby for adoption (common terms, but not policitcally correct) do not be scared away from the process because you are not sure how you could ever pick someone to raise your child. Even though it seems like it would be a difficult process, it really does not have to be that difficult.
Many of the woman we have worked with tell us that they do not go through a complicated, analytical process to pick an adoptive family. They do not get bogged down in the details. Pretty much every single woman that has expressed to us how she came about selecting a particular family has told us something like, “I don’t know what it was exactly, they just felt right to me.”
I know some of you might be thinking, “that is a pretty simple statement for a seemingly impossible decision?!” It certainly is! We all have that internal gut feeling about things and we have all been told in our lives to trust our guts.
If you are pregnant and considering adoption and picking an adoptive family you just need to trust your gut. Do not hyper-analyze each family’s profile. Just read through them and pick the one that feels right to you. You won’t make a bad decision.
