Am I Pregnant?

How Do I Know Whether I Am Pregnant or Not?

If you think you are pregnant, you are probably shocked and scared. You need answers. You probably think your life is over as you ask yourself, “Am I pregnant? What if I am pregnant? How do I find out without telling everyone?”

To learn how you determine whether you are pregnant and where you can get confidential information, read below.

Most Common Symptoms of Pregnancy

Missing your period (or it is late)
Bloating, or retaining water
Unusually thick discharge
Nausea or vomiting, at any time of day
Very sore and/or swollen breasts
New, intense dislike of certain smells or tastes
Increase in how often you go to the bathroom
If you have experienced one or more of these symptoms, you may be pregnant. Of course, you may simply have the flu, food poisoning or some other medical issue – if you exhibit several of these symptoms, the possibility that you are pregnant increases.

To confirm that you are pregnant, you can buy a home pregnancy test at a supermarket or drug store, or you can call a pregnancy center that offers free tests. Home pregnancy tests are very reliable if you follow the directions closely, and the same tests are usually used at pregnancy centers.
